DC SCORES invites coaches to host end of year celebrations on the day of their choice with their teams at their schools to honor all of the hard work completed in the past year. DC SCORES will be providing party kits with treats and giveaways for poet-athletes, which will be distributed the weeks of May 12th and May 19th.
We will also be reimbursing coaches up to $100 for any food and drinks purchased for your celebration. Please feel free to invite other community members to your celebration (school permitting) and take lots of pictures to share with the DC SCORES staff!
For questions, please reach out to your site manager or Tatiana Figueroa Ramirez.
FAQ’s:
Can we buy the team food and drinks?
Absolutely! We encourage coaches to order food and drinks for their teams to enjoy during their celebration.
What do you suggest buying for food and drinks?
Pizza is always an easy option for teams, but keep in mind any allergies and dietary restrictions your teams may have. Some schools have also opted to buy an assortment of snacks, fruit, and sandwiches for their teams.
How much can we spend on food and drinks?
There is no maximum budget for spending on food and drinks; however, please keep in mind DC SCORES can only reimburse schools up to $100 for food and drinks.
Can we invite other school community members to our celebration?
Yes! As long as your school allows it, feel free to invite school administration, other teachers, and parents to your celebration. Just take into account your extra guests when providing refreshments.
When should we have our celebration?
This is completely up to you, as long as you have your party kits. We plan on supplying schools the weeks of May 12th and May 19th with their party kits. Most schools choose to celebrate their teams either the last week of programming or right after programming ends.
What is included in our party kit?
Each party kit will include candy, pencils, stickers, and some party favors like bracelets.
Can a DCS staff member come to our celebration?
If a DCS staff member is available to attend, we would be happy to! Please let us know in advance which day you plan on celebrating, so we can work to be there with you.
